El Monte PD is breaking the status quo in recruitment videos.
Many recruitment videos default to the same formula: a yearbook of every unit mixed with sirens and tactical shots, then sprinkled with community relations. EMPD took a different approach - showing how they took tragedy as an opportunity to improve and invest in technology, equipment and wellness.
Potential applicants see a department that doesn’t gloss over tough moments, one that values legacy and community, not just the highlight reel. By also speaking directly to lateral applicants, highlighting multi-generational members, and featuring home-grown candidates, the message becomes inclusive and relatable.
Thank you for the opportunity to work on this project, truly an honor @chiefjakefisher @911strong
