Lolita Harper’s Bio
Lolita Harper is a two-time Emmy-winning writer and producer with varied and unique experiences in organizational leadership, government affairs, media relations, contract negotiations, public speaking, community relations, and crisis response.
Lolita is the Executive Director at the Sheriff’s Employees’ Benefit Association (SEBA), one of the largest law enforcement unions in California.
Harper holds a B.A. from the University of Southern California and her Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from the University of Redlands. After graduating from USC, Harper worked as a staff writer for the Los Angeles Times in public safety and local government.
She left journalism and worked for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department for 10 years, leaving as a detective. SEBA hired Harper in 2016 to enhance the organization’s public relations and government affairs. Now, as the Executive Director, Harper manages five corporate entities and staff; all organizational messaging and media; and strategically works to implement the goals and objectives outlined by the Board of Directors.
She is a mother of three children and is an active volunteer in her community. Harper also serves as the President of the Public Employees’ Service Organization and the Secretary for the Inland Empire Hispanic Leadership Council. As the author of more than 1,000 published articles, Harper continues to write speeches, scripts, and Opinion Editorials.
