Instagram Story Music Not Working?

Oct 26, 2021 | Social Media

Many of us have been there, creating an Instagram story for a business or agency, but find that we only have limited or no music capabilities at all.

There is a way to fix this.

At the moment, there are three types of Instagram accounts: personal, creator, and business.

Often a business or agency will automatically launch a business Instagram account, which makes sense by definition.

But, business accounts sometimes lack certain features like the music sticker to take your Stories to the next level.

The Simple Answer

Switch your account type from a business profile to a creator profile; no worries, if you decide to switch back, you totally can.

Differences between a business profile and creator account

There are a few unique differences between business and creator accounts, like call to action buttons and insights.

Business profiles were created and tailored to the needs of businesses. With Business accounts, you can add additional call-to-action buttons so that visitors can book an appointment, contact customer service, or even make reservations. These types of profiles are best if you’re a business selling products, as you can enter product details, descriptions, and shopping links to your posts. But, these types of profiles often lack new creator features that can help maximize branding efforts.

A creator profile is tailored towards influencers who want to build their brand identity and comes with an array of additional features. Just because your social account may not be a typical “influencer” doesn’t mean you can’t switch to a creator account. Additional benefits of having a creator account include additional insights, access to the IG creator studio, and many additional Instagram story stickers…like music.

While both of these profile types have their advantages, it’s up to you to determine what works best for your specific account and audience to meet your goals.

How to switch to a creator account

So you decided to switch your business account to a creator account? Follow the steps below to get started!

  1. Open account settings
  2. Click account
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page
  4. Click switch account type
  5. Choose “Switch to Creator Account”
  6. Enjoy your new features!
